A look at this chart reveals that the majority of commercial motor vehicle accidents in 2021 happened during rush hours and then  fairly evenly throughout normal daytime business hours. So, since long haul traffic continues throughout the entire day in Missouri, why are there more accidents during the day when visibility is better than at night? We can say that it is the increased number of passenger cars and trucks during the day which contributes to these figures.  Big rigs and 18 wheelers with their heavy loads and need for increased stopping distances, make for a bad mix with non-commercial traffic.
